THE FLAPS PROJECT
FLAPS (Fannies Listening with Advice and Peer Support) is our biggest venture yet. Learn all about the FLAPS Project here. Here are some of our achievements from 2024.
GRRLZ NIGHT IN
Thanks to the Betty McAlister fund, Fanny Riot were able to launch Grrlz Night In, a pay-as-you-feel initiative aimed at providing a space for self identifying women, non binary and queer folks to gather once a month, unwind and socialize in the soothing Dream Machine space. We ran these events over 2023/2024, with different activities and workshops each month; our running theme being creativity, expression, rest & relaxation.
These events saw screenings from independant film makers, movie nights, yoga workshops and a songwriting workshop from incredible Glasgow based songstress 🎶 Pippa Blundell.
PROTEST PERFORMANCE
Performative and provocative comments in the street! We join protests with costumes and in characters to trigger conversations and celebrate connection through humour and playfulness.

Worried about heating your home this winter? Dinni fret! Our army of Liz Truss femmebots and Sir Greedy Trotter are here to help! With helpful tips such as buying a new kettle to save on energy consumption, or wearing a fetching foil dress to keep the heat in. And remember, when all else fails, it can all be solved with a cuppa tea!

ACTIVE BYSTANDER WORKSHOPS
An engaging workshop on bystander intervention. This is about skill sharing and conversation. We've learned a lot from Good Night Out Campaign. Check out their resources and training opportunities offered all year round.

We ran the first one ever :) on Saturday 22nd April 2023 at the Space in Glasgow. We had such a great time making new friends, making new outfits and raising money for our FLAPS project. You think we should hold more events like this in the future? Let us know!
FRIENDLY FESTIVALS SCOTLAND
A collaborative campaign to get all Scottish festivals to display zero tolerance anti sexual violence policies on their websites! As a commitment to the safety of people attending. Policies like this are a first step to addressing the fact that 1 in 5 women* will experience sexual assault or harassment at a music festival.

FANNY BINGO
A body and sexual health take on yer grans mecca club classic pastime! Led by our educational gurus Dr Fanny and Professor Flaps, participants take parts in a melting pot of bingo rounds, quizzes, craft and catwalk contests, learning along the way about the body and sexual health.
This is our ultimate fundraiser. We've ran many dates since 2019, including last year at our special collab Tiny Fannies Big Change!
